Time To Die!

Time to Die!
Yesterday I went for a prayer meeting for a relative who had passed away after battling cancer for 4 years.
Death of a person is always sad. I guess it's the fact of finality that makes it so somber. In life when we go leaving a place, or part ways or can't meet/see for various reasons; we feel sad and miserable according to intensity of our emotions. Still we know we are on the same planet so we can meet or get in touch with various means. We might just bump into each other. That is the difference with death. However much we miss a person; whatever we try; with all the money and scientific advances we can't get back the person! Or communicate-whether to apologize or express our love or hate or to share that one news he/she was dying to hear!
However, there is another aspect to death. Sad it is but I strongly feel many a times its good to die. No, I am not talking about our enemies whom we may wish dead. I am talking of our dear, close people. Especially people suffering from terminal illnesses. This has become even more relevant in modern times when medical science has progressed so much. There are increasing number of cases when the disease won't let a person live in any meaningful sense of the term but medical science won't let him die-forcing the heart to beat on, prolonging his life and misery.
I strongly feel there ought to be serious debate about euthanasia and it should be not only made legal but made available to people that qualify.
